Pursuit

02/07/2024

On February 7, 2024, the Searcy County Sheriff's Office received a complaint of a reckless driver in the Harriett, AR area.  It was alleged that Tilger has left the roadway and struck a fence.  When deputies arrived in the area, contact was made with a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo, driven by Dwight Tilger of Yellville, AR.

After contact was made with the vehicle, Tilger fled from law enforcement on Hwy. 27, towards Marshall. During the pursuit, deputies deployed spike strips at the intersection of Hwy. 65 and Hwy. 27.  When Tilger reached the intersection, his vehicle tires connected with the strips, and began to go flat.

After turning south onto Hwy. 65, the vehicle stopped at the base of Backbone Mountain, due to deflated tires.

Deputies took the driver, Dwight Tilger, into custody without further incident.  Tilger was arrested for Felony Fleeing, Driving Left of Center, Defective Equipment and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.  He is scheduled for Searcy County Circuit Court.  The Marshall Police Department assisted in the arrest.
