Mason Dylan Nixon held in the Searcy County Detention Center

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reported that a Van Buren County man was arrested in Searcy County following a residential burglary in Marshall.

Cassell explained on April 21, Searcy County Deputy Kevin Trammell responded to a call concerning a break-in of a residence on Red Bluff Road in Marshall. After arriving on scene, the property owner told Trammell that his neighbor had seen a car go through the gate on his property. The owner stated that the gate was locked and there were no trespass signs posted on the gate.

The property owner said when he arrived at the property, the post, chain and lock had been pulled up allowing access to the driveway that leads to the cabin located on the property. He also told Trammell when he arrived at the property he saw a man coming from the cabin, who identified himself as Mason Dylan Nixon, age 24, of Shirley, Arkansas.

The property owner stated he asked Nixon to leave and to never come back on his property again.

On May 18, Nixon was arrested and transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where he was charged with breaking or entering a building or structure, Class B felony and second degree criminal mischief, Class A misdemeanor.

Due to these charges, Nixon, who was on probation for various charges in Van Buren County, had his probation revoked and was transported to the Arkansas Department of Corrections. He is scheduled to appear in the Searcy County Circuit Court on June 22.
