Sanders sentenced to ADC

  On Tuesday, November 17, Jackie Lee Sanders, age 50, of Marshall was sentenced in the Searcy County Circuit Court by the Circuit Judge H.G. Foster to 36 months in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

  According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, the sentencing came after Sanders was arrested following a home visit on September 16, 2020 conducted by an Agent Cody Cassell with Arkansas Community Corrections and assisted by a Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger.

  Cassell said while law enforcement officials were conducting the home visit, they did a search of Sanders' residence. During the search, they located a glass pipe that contained a crystal like residue inside, and two small bags that also contained a crystal like substance.

  Sanders was arrested and transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, Class D felony, and felony possession of meth or cocaine less than 2 GM, Class D felony.

  Sanders was also arrested in May 10, 2020 and following a search of his vehicle he was charged with possession of a controlled substance, Class C felony and possession of drug paraphernalia, Class D felony and on April 9, 2020, he was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia (meth, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, Class D felony and driving left of center.

  Following Sanders' sentencing on the 17th, he was taken into custody by the Searcy County Sheriff's Office for referral to the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections.
