On February 20, 2021 Melissa Cowan of Searcy County reported her juvenile son missing from the Mt. Hershey Road area. 

Melissa advised that on Friday night, 02/19/21, Michael went to bed.  The next morning at 7:30 am, Melissa stated that her mother had gotten up out of bed and noticed the back door was open and thought that M.C. had gotten up to go do his chores. Melissa's mother then looked on the couch and noticed a note from Michael, that stated he was leaving but would come back. The note also stated "Don't call the cops, I'll just go deeper in the woods where the dogs won't find me."

During the investigation, it was learned that Michael had not taken anything with him when he left, including clothes or his cell phone.

Michael has been entered as a missing person February 22, 2021.  A photo of Michael has been attached above.
