Second Hwy. 66 suspect arrested

According to Sheriff Kenny Cassell, as of April 9, 2019, both suspects have been identified and arrested.  The second suspect, William Moppin III of Hot Springs was transported to the Searcy County Detention Center for an interview and warrant service.Sheriff Kenny Cassell states that on May 1, 2018, the Searcy County Sheriff's Department received a call from the Hwy. 66 Country Mart in regard to a Commercial Burglary of the business.  After arriving, officers observed the front window of the business broken, with a hole big enough for an average person to gain entry.  After confirming the business was not occupied by anyone, it was discovered that certain property had been stolen from within the business.

During the interview with Chief Deputy D. Pierce and Deputy Billy Cordell, Moppin confessed, and  laid out  the events of the early morning hours of May 1st, 2018, when the Hwy. 66 Country Mart (Oxley, Arkansas) was burglarized.

William Moppin III and Jessie Fletcher (AKA: Jessie Sears) have been arrested by Searcy County authorities, and charged by Carol Crews, Prosecuting Attorney of the Twentieth Judicial District, with the crimes of Commercial Burglary and Theft of Property.

Both remain in custody awaiting a bond and court date.
