Stole Property leads to arrest

Thomas Manning, age 29, of Marshall was arrested on Sunday, July 14, after he and one other person  allegedly stole a 1990 Ford van from property located on Grassy Road off of Hwy. 27N in Searcy County.

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, on June 29 his office received a call from the owner of the van stating someone took his vehicle off of his property. Later that day, Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger found the van at a scrap yard in Searcy County. Baysinger interviewed a witness, who stated he had seen Manning and the other individual towing the van.

Law enforcement offers seized the vehicle and a warrant was issued for Manning’s arrest. He has been charged with breaking and entering, theft of property and criminal trespass.

Manning was transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where he is currently being held awaiting his first appearance in Searcy County Circuit Court. According to Cassell, another arrest is expected in this case.
