March 1 2017 Thunderstorm

03/01/2017

On March 1, 2017 at approximately 2 am in Searcy County, the city of Marshall and some surrounding communities were hit by a thunderstorm and what appears to be, at this time, straight lines winds. We are still waiting to hear from the NWS on speeds. There were no reports of injuries, just a lot of property damage, trees and power lines down. Law Enforcement as well as Fire/First Responder Crews, Road Crews and Power Companies worked tirelessly through the night and into the afternoon to make sure everyone was safe and power was restored. Sheriff Joey Pruitt wishes to thank everyone for the quick response and team work of everyone involved.
