Domestic Disturbance lands two in jail

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reported on July 9, a Pindall couple was arrested following a domestic dispute at their residence. Following a call to the sheriff’s office, Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger and Searcy County Deputy Kevin Trammell were dispatched to the scene where they were met at the door of the residence by Linda Smith.

Smith told deputies that Danny Mills had grabbed her arm and bruised her. Smith also told deputies that she and Mills had been drinking alcohol. After entering the home, deputies questioned Mills who stated that Smith was lying and that he had not touched Smith. Mills also told deputies that he and Smith had been drinking alcohol. He stated that Smith had hit him on the arm and had been yelling at him.

Both Smith and Mills had bruises on their arms.  A witness at the scene told deputies that he could hear Smith yelling and cursing earlier in the day.

Smith and Mills were arrested and transported to the Searcy County Detention Center. Both were charged with domestic battery in the third degree, Class A misdemeanor. At press time, both were being held in the Searcy County Jail awaiting their first appearance in the Searcy County Circuit Court.
