According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, on September 12, an arrest warrant was issued for Crystal Elias Fuentes, age 38, of Marshall for failing to register as a registered sex offender.

Cassell explained that when law enforcement attempted to contact Fuentes on her personal cell phone using the number she had provided, they received a message stating it "was not a working number." When law enforcement attempted to reach an additional number she had provided, they were told that Fuentes had changed her number.

By failing to report the new phone number to authorities, she failed to comply with the necessary reporting requirements. At Cassell's instruction, Sex Offender Coordinator Cari Seaton of the Searcy County Sheriff's Department issued an arrest affidavit for Fuentes.

20th Judicial District Prosecutor Carol Crews charged Fuentes with failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements, Class C felony.
