On October 29, Marshall Police Chief Lang Holland stated that his department was dispatched to a call on Hwy. 27N after the caller stated that a man had left his residence with a number of firearms that did not belong to him.

Marshall Police Department K-9 Officer Sam Holliman and Searcy County Deputy Sgt. Kevin Trammell responded to the call. After arriving at the scene, they spoke to the people who called in the complaint  and learned that Ralph Elliott got in to an argument with other occupants of the house and left in a Honda Civic. They said there were firearms in the vehicle that did not belong to Elliott.

After leaving the residence, they began a search for Elliott and found him at the Marshall Hotel. He was arrested and taken to the Searcy County Detention Center and charged with five counts of theft of property. He is currently being held in the Searcy County Jail awaiting his first appearance in the Searcy County Court.
