01/22/2020

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, a Harriet woman was arrested on January 16 following routine traffic stop. Cassell said 22 year old Kayla Haro was arrested after the vehicle which she was riding in was stopped for defective equipment.

Cassell stated that Searcy County Deputy Sgt. Kevin Trammell conducted the stop and asked the driver, Jordan Wallis, for his license and information. Wallis told Trammell his license had been suspended. Trammell then asked the passengers for their information and learned the front seat passenger was Kayla Haro.

After running their information through the computer, Trammell learned that all three had prior narcotics histories.

Trammell, who asked Marshall K9 Officer Sam Holliman for assistance, asked the trio to exit the vehicle and a free air sniff was conducted. Holliman told Trammell his K9 showed a positive alert on the vehicle. During a vehicle search, officers located two bags containing white residue. Haro admitted to the officers that the bags containing the residue belonged to her.

Haro was arrested and transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where she was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, Class D felony.
