Marshall man arrested on drug charges

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, 42 year old James Tilley of Marshall was arrested in the Red Oak Road area of Searcy County by Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger.

Cassell stated that the arrest occurred after Baysinger noticed Tilley, who was wanted on a failure to appear warrant, walking down the road. Baysinger stopped his vehicle and asked Tilley if he was aware of the a warrant and also asked if he had anything illegal in his possession.

At that point, Tilley began to empty his pockets which included a plastic bag that he immediately dropped to the ground. Baysinger retrieved the bag and noticed it contained white residue.

Tilley was arrested and transported to the Searcy County Detention Center for processing. After arriving at the center, a narcotic's field test was conducted on the bag taken from Tilley and it tested positive for meth.

Searcy County Prosecuting Attorney Benjamin Fruehauf filed charges against Tilley for possession of drug paraphernalia, Class D felony and possession of a controlled substance, Class D felony.
