Marshall man charged with battery

04/14/2020

On March 13, Dylan Dwight Baysinger, age 32, of Marshall was arrested after assaulting two Searcy County residents. According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, Searcy County Deputy Lt. Billy Cordell responded to Steve Treat's residence after learning from Stephanie Treat that Baysinger came to Treat's residence and assaulted both she and her father, Steve Treat.

Stephanie Treat explained to Cordell that she was at her father's house when Baysinger arrived and she attempted to keep him from entering the home since they had recently ended their relationship. After asking Baysinger to leave she attempted to enter the house when Baysinger hit her with the door causing her to fall to the floor. She managed to get back in the house and called her father for assistance.

When Steve Treat arrived at the house, he asked Baysinger to leave his property. Baysinger grabbed Treat by the throat and pressed his body against the exterior of the house. While holding Treat by the neck, Stephanie Treat struck Baysinger in an attempt to free her father. Baysinger finally released Steve Treat and left the property.

Searcy County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Benjamin Fruehauf filed a warrant for Baysinger's arrest charging him with aggravated assault, Class D felony and 3rd degree assault on family or household member, Class C misdemeanor.
