Drug paraphernalia leads to arrest

  Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reported on May 9, Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger conducted a routine traffic stop on a blue Neon driving south on Hwy. 65 near Wiley's Cove. Following the stop, Baysinger approached the vehicle and identified the driver as Alexandria Hoffman and the passenger as Michael Killian Abrao, age 21, of Mountain Home.

  After checking Abrao's information through dispatch, he learned that Abrao was wanted on a warrant out of Stone County. After receiving permission by Hoffman, Baysinger conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, he found a zip lock bag that contained a marijuana grinder, smoking device and a container that appeared to have marijuana wax used for smoking. When Baysinger asked the pair who the zip lock bag belonged to, Abrao stated it was his.

  Abrao was arrested and transported to the to the Searcy County Detention Center where he was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. He is scheduled to appear in Searcy County District Court on August 11 at 9:00 a.m.
