Erratic driving leads to DWI charge

  Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reported on May 9, Billy King, age 70, of Strong, AR was arrested in Searcy County by Deputy Joey Baysinger when he observed King driving erratically on Hwy. 65.

  When Baysinger approached King's vehicle, he noticed to the strong smell of alcohol. At that time, King agreed to allow Baysinger to administer the Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST). After administering the test, Baysinger arrested King for suspicion of DWI.

  During an inventory of King's vehicle, Baysinger found two open beer cans in the passenger's seat and both cans still contained beer. In the trunk, Baysinger found an ice chest which contained beer and a beer box that also contained beer.

  King was transported to the Searcy County Detention Center for processing and further testing. King consented to take a breath test which showed he was over the legal limit for alcohol in the State of Arkansas. King was cited for misdemeanor DWI.
