05/26/2020

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reported that two Baxter County women were arrested on May 14 in Searcy County following a routine traffic stop in the Martin Box area conducted by Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger.

After stopping the Chevrolet pickup, Baysinger identified the driver as Christina Marie Stenseth, age 43, of Mountain Home and the passenger as Chawna Dawn Alden, age 41, of Mountain Home. He learned that Stenseth was driving on a suspended license. At that time, he asked for and was granted permission to search the vehicle.

During the search, Baysinger found a McDonald's box and inside the box there was a cigarette holder that contained a white crystal-like substance. He also found two pills that were later identified as Clonazepam and two marijuana cigarettes that Stenseth said belonged to her. Inside a bag belonging to Alden, Baysinger found a used syringe. On the passenger floor he found a McDonald's bag that contained a glass smoking device. He also found three straws that contained residue.

After using a Nar Tec field test kit, the pipe, syringe and crystal-like substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

Stenseth and Alden was transported to the Searcy County Detention where Stenseth was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and two misdemeanor counts of possession of drugs.   Alden was charged with one charge of felony possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
