07/06/2020

A 56 year old Marshall woman was arrested on June 29 on drug charges after she was seen in a car driving erratically on Hwy. 27 near Marshall.

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger arrested Deborah Farris after he noticed the vehicle she was traveling in crossed the centerline. After approaching the vehicle, Baysinger learned the driver of the vehicle was Josh Farris and his passenger was Deborah Farris.

After running the driver's information through the crime information system, Baysinger learned Josh Farris had a search waiver on file. Baysinger, assisted by a Marshall Police Officer and Reserve Deputy Dustin Rosenburger, began a search of the vehicle.

During the search, officers asked Deborah Farris to empty her pockets and when she did she pulled out a rubber tube with a substance inside. After conducting a test of the substance, it tested positive for THC.

Deborah Farris was transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where she was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
