Speeder arrested for drugs

  On June 28, Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger arrested a Brinkley man on drug charges after he was seen speeding on Hwy. 65 near Marshall.

  Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell said Baysinger noticed the speeding vehicle and pulled it over near the Shell Station in Marshall. When Baysinger approached the vehicle, he notice the smell of marijuana coming from inside.

  The driver was identified as Desmond Peeler, age 20, of Brinkley. After running his information, Baysinger learned Peeler was driving on suspended license and was on probation with a search waiver on file. While conducting a search of Peeler's vehicle, officers found what appeared to be a small marijuana cigarette in the car.

 

  Peeler was arrested and transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of a schedule VI narcotic less than 4 ounces and driving on a suspended license.
