Searcy County deputies were dispatched to the Richland Creek area of Searcy County at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 5 concerning a missing man.

  Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reported that Deputies Joey Baysinger and Dustin Rosenberger assisted at the scene while members of the Witt Springs Volunteer Fire Department conducted the search for Thomas Creed. Creed, who was not familiar with the area, and three acquaintances were in the area for a day hike when Creed became lost.

  Creed, who was located unharmed at approximately 4:00 a.m., was transported by ambulance to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center for observation.

  Cassell extends his sincere thanks to the members of the Witts Springs Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance with the search of Mr. Creed.
