Stone County couple arrested in SC

09/14/2020

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reported on the evening of August 20, Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 65 after he noticed the vehicle driving erratically. Cassell said the vehicle was occupied by the driver, 36 year old Tiffany Shepherd of Mountain View and passenger, 45 year old Franklin Turner of Mountain View.

After running their driver's licenses through the crime information computer, Baysinger learned that Shepherd was driving on a suspended license and was on probation with a search waiver on file. Baysinger also learned Turner was on probation.

After asking the couple to step out of the vehicle, he conducted a search of the vehicle and found a pill on the console that was identified as Clonazepam, which is a scheduled four controlled substance. Since neither had a prescription for the drug, Baysinger contacted Arkansas Community Corrections Agent Cody Cassell and placed both under arrest.

Both were taking to the Searcy County Detention Center for processing and booking. Shepherd was charged with possession of a Scheduled IV narcotic LT 28GM, driving on a suspended license and driving left of center. Turner was charged with driving on a suspended license.
