10/06/2020

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell on October 4, a probable cause affidavit was filed with the Twentieth Judicial Prosecuting Attorney for the detention or arrest of Kristin Faith Johns, age 30, of Leslie. Charges against Johns stemmed from the burglary of a home in Leslie in July of this year.

Cassell said on September 4, Searcy County Chief Deputy Dewayne Pierce applied for and received a search warrant through Searcy County Circuit Court and on September 9 he and deputies with the Searcy County Sheriff's Office and Arkansas Community Corrections executed the search warrant at a home located on First Street in Leslie.

During the search, officers made contact with Johns, who appeared to reside at the residence. Johns was detained and released due to overcrowding at the detention center.

While searching the residence, law enforcement officers found numerous items that belonged to the burglary victim. Officers also found packaged methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, money, plastic baggies, marijuana, marijuana seeds, smoking devices and a crossbow.

During a conversation with Johns, she admitted the marijuana found in the bedroom belonged to her.

On September 25, Johns was arrested and taken into custody. She was charged with possession to ingest or inhale meth/cocaine, Class D felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor; LT 4 oz schedule VI narcotic, Class A misdemeanor; more than 2g less than 10g meth/cocaine, Class B felony.
