Flippin woman arrested on drug charge

11/23/2020

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, 56 year old Deborah Farris of Flippin was arrested following a routine traffic stop. Cassell said Searcy County Deputy Troy Dye stopped Farris, who was traveling north on Hwy. 27, when he noticed that one of her vehicle's headlights were not working.

While visiting with Farris, Dye asked for and was given permission to search Farris' vehicle. During the search he located a scale inside a leather container in her glovebox. Dye noticed a white crystal-like substance on the scale. When he tested the scale using a Nar Tec field test kit, it tested positive for methamphetamine.

Farris was arrested and transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where she was charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dye stated that the scale located in Farris' vehicle would be sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab for further testing.
