Louisiana man arrested for drugs - Fabela

01/04/2021

A Louisiana man was arrested by Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger on the evening of December 18, following a traffic stop.

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, Bryon Michael Fabela, age 32, of Epps, Louisiana was stopped by Baysinger on Hwy. 27 N at the top of Charlie House Hill after Baysinger noticed Epps car crossing over the center line and the fog  line.

After conducting the stop, Baysinger asked Fabela had anything illegal in the car to which Fabela responded no. Since Fabela was acting nervous, Baysinger enlisted the assistance of K-9 partner, Vader, who conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics on the driver's side door.

When Baysinger went to the driver's side door to inspect, Fabela handed Searcy County Deputy Dakota English a smoking device that contained a small amount of crystal-like residue inside. Fabela told the deputies that the pipe had been used for smoking crystal methamphetamine.

Law enforcement took the pipe into evidence, which was sent to the state crime lab for testing. Fabela was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, Class D felony and driving left of center.
