01/15/2021

A traffic stopped that occurred on the evening of January 3, led to the arrest of 34 year old Andrew James Miller of Harrison.

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell stated that when a Searcy County deputy approached to tell Miller the reason for the stop, he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from Miller's vehicle. When the deputy ran Miller's information through the crime information computer, he learned Miller was wanted out of Boone County.

The deputy placed Miller under arrest and conducted a search of his vehicle. During the search, he found two small bottles that contained a green leafy substance that resembled marijuana. A pipe used for smoking marijuana was also located in the vehicle.

Miller was arrested for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of a scheduled VI narcotic less than 4 oz. and careless driving.

Miller is scheduled to appear in the Searcy County District Court on March 9 at 9:00 a.m. to answer the charges filed against him.
