01/15/2021

Andrea Simpson, age 20, of Harrison was arrested by a Searcy County deputy on the evening of December 23 following a traffic stop at the former Carl's Restaurant in Marshall for defective equipment.

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell said during the stop the odor of marijuana could be detected coming from the vehicle. When the deputy asked Simpson if she had anything illegal in the car she said no, but said if there was, it belonged to her boyfriend because he had a marijuana card issued by the State of Arkansas.

During the vehicle search, deputies located plastic container with a green leafy substance inside, multiple glass pipes used from smoking marijuana, a grinder used to grind marijuana, and rolled marijuana that had been partially smoked.

Simpson was arrested for misdemeanor possession of CS LT 4 oz. marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
