03/30/2021

On the evening of March 15, Marshall Police Office Devin Elliott requested the assistance of Searcy County Deputies Dakotah Springstead and Troy Dye after he smelled marijuana coming from a vehicle he had pulled over.

After deputies arrived on scene, they learned the car was being driven by 50 year old Lori Ann Wilson of Reeds Spring, Missouri and the passenger was 46 year old Robby Ricket of Reeds Spring, Missouri. After asking Wilson and Ricket to step out of the vehicle, officers conducted a search and in the center console of the truck they found a small amount of leafy green substance, glass smoking device, green grinder and a pill bottle that contained a green leafy residue. After searching further, they found a bag on the back seat held a jar that contained a green leafy substance. Officers also found a Smith and Wesson revolver in the truck.

Ricket told the officers the gun belonged to him and after researching the serial number on the revolver officers learned the gun was stolen out of Springfield, Missouri. After questioning Wilson and Ricket, Wilson admitted the marijuana and drug paraphernalia was hers and Ricket stated he had owned the revolver for over two years.

Both were transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where Wilson was charged with possession of the schedule VI narcotic and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Rickets was charged with theft by receiving.

During an interview with Searcy County Chief Deputy Dewayne Pierce, Ricket provided the name of the person he purchased the revolver from. Pierce turned the information over to the Springfield, Missouri Police Department, who learned the case also involved a stolen vehicle.

Due to the information provided by Ricket, several people were arrested in Springfield by members of the Springfield Theft Division. The stolen revolver was returned to its original owner.
