03/30/2021

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, a 15 year old male who was reported missing from the Mt. Hershey Road area in Searcy County has been located.

Cassell said on February 20, the boy's mother reported him missing after he left his home on Friday evening. The boy's mother said when she got up on Saturday morning the back door to the house was open and she assumed her son had gone outside to do his chores, but instead she found a note on the couch from her son saying he was leaving and would not be coming back.

Earlier this month, Cassell said his office asked for the public's help in locating the missing teen who at been seen in over two weeks. The note also said, "Don't call the cops, I'll just go deeper in the woods where the dogs won't find me."

Cassell said that last week, the boy contacted his mother and the two came to the Searcy County Sheriff's Office where they met with Deputy Troy Dye. According to Deputy Dye, the juvenile was in good health and gave details to his whereabouts. The case is no longer active.
