Break-ins/thefts reported in county



  Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell has reported multiple break-ins and thefts have occurred recently in Searcy County.

  Cassell said multiple vehicle break-ins occurred in the Elm Street area of Leslie on March 25. He reported numerous items were stolen from the vehicles including money and ammunition.

  Cassell is encouraging all Searcy County residents to lock their vehicles to help prevent this type of crime. If anyone has any information regarding the break-ins, they are asked to call the Searcy County Sheriff's Office at 870-448-2340 or visit their website and submit a tip online.

  Also, Cassell reported a felony theft that occurred on Shady Grove Road on March 27. Cassell stated that household items ranging in cost from $5,000-25,000 were removed from home.

  He added that his office is following up leads in connection with the burglary and if anyone has any information regarding the theft, they are asked to contact the sheriff's office at 870-448-2340.
