Confrontation leads to arrest

  On April 13, deputies from the Searcy County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to Able Road in St. Joe concerning a confrontation with weapons involved.

  Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell said when Deputy Dakotah Springstead arrived on scene, he spoke with 56 year old Patricia E. Fulton. She told law enforcement she was allowed to be at the residence because the former homeowner had died and she was working with a mortgage company to assume the house payments.

  Others at the scene included Fulton's son, Billy Fulton, and the homeowner's son, daughter and granddaughter who told officers Patricia Fulton was not allowed to be on the property.

  After receiving permission to search everything in Fulton's car except her son's bag, officer conducted a search and found a bag that contained a plate with methamphetamine residue and a straw, white crystal-like substance, two smoking devices, a bag containing a green leafy substance, a fully loaded handgun magazine, which was seized for evidence.

  Patricia Fulton was transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where she was charged with possession of a schedule II narcotic less than 2 grams and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
