07/16/2021

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, a deputy was dispatched to a residence on Hwy. 74 after a woman called and said there was a shirtless male knocking on doors and walking in the middle of the road. The woman also told Cassell the man had knocked on her door and said he would be back which frightened her.

Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger was dispatched to the scene and while enroute, Arkansas State Trooper Nathan Holder said he had received a call concerning the man and was headed to the scene.

When Baysinger arrived on scene, he found the man, 45 year old Timothy Martin of Marshall, sitting near a headstone in the Dongola Cemetery. While speaking with Martin, Baysinger noticed the odor of alcohol coming from his breath.

Baysinger asked Martin if he could provide any identification and while searching his pocket a yellow pill fell out and Martin attempted to hide it with his foot. Martin was transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where the pill was identified as acetaminophen and hydrocodone bitartrate, which is a schedule II narcotic. Baysinger also learned that Martin is currently out on felony bond in the Searcy County Circuit Court.

Martin was charged with felony possession of a schedule I or II narcotic and misdemeanor public intoxication and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
