07/16/2021

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reported on July 3, a Greenbrier man was arrested after being stopped by Searcy County Deputy Troy Dye on Hwy. 27 for expired tags.

Dye said after stopping the vehicle he identified the driver as 49 year old Shawn Allen. While checking Allen's information through the crime information computer system, he learned Allen had a search waiver on file.

After requesting assistance from Searcy County Deputy Joey Baysinger, Dye began a search of the vehicle and noticed a box that contained a crystal-like substance and a glass smoking device under the driver's seat. Dye also learned the tags on the car were registered to a different vehicle.

Allen and his female passenger were both transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where the substance in the glass smoking device was checked and tested positive for methamphetamine.

Allen was charged with felony possession of meth or cocaine GT 2GM but less than 10GM; felony possession of drug paraphernalia; and felony evidences of title or registration.
