Marshall man charged with rape in Stone Co.

09/14/2021

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, 30 year old Devin Lars Williams of Marshall has been arrested in Stone County and charged with rape and two counts of sexual assault.

Cassell stated the Williams' arrest in Stone County followed his arrest in Searcy County on June 4 and charged with rape of a minor. Cassell explained the investigation began when a 12 year old female contacted law enforcement stating she has been sexually assaulted by Williams in the sleeping compartment of his semi-truck. Cassell said Williams was located by Marshall Police Chief Kevin Ward as he was attempting to leave the state.

During the investigation, Cassell said two other juveniles came forward regarding assaults by Williams. The victims said the assaults took place in Oxley in Searcy County and in Timbo in Stone County.

Williams appeared in Searcy County Circuit Court on June 8 where the Honorable H.G. Foster set his bond at $250,000.  During an interview with Chief Deputy Dewayne Pierce, Williams gave details to Chief Pierce that implicated Williams in the Stone County sexual assaults.  After turning his findings over to Stone County, Stone County authorities issued an affidavit for the arrest of Williams.

On September 7, the Stone County Circuit County issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Devin Lars Williams. His bond in Stone County was set at $300,000.
