11/30/2021

According to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell, a call received by his office on Sunday, November 28 concerning a resident brandishing a firearm on Pickle Road in Searcy County led to the arrest of Searcy County resident, Dillon S. Carlton.

Cassell said the incident began when Carlton became angry with his family about events that occurred two days previously. Before law enforcement arrived on scene, Carlton allegedly fired a shot at his brother's vehicle.

After Searcy County units arrived on scene, Cassell contacted Carlton, who had entered his home, using a loudspeaker. After making contact with Carlton who was armed, and ordering him outside, he came out of the residence and surrendered to Sheriff Cassell and his deputies.

Carlton was transported to the Searcy County Detention Center where he is expected to be formally charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threatening, which are both felonies. Carlton is currently being held in the Searcy County Jail.
