Arrest made in Battery of Infant

05/09/2025

On May 8, 2025, Sheriff Kenny Cassell states he and deputies from his office arrested 20-year-old Alexander Michael Perez after a joint investigation with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division.

On February 21, 2025, Cassell states that a report was received by his office that alleged the possible abuse of an 8-month-old infant, who was presented to the Arkansas Children's Hospital with multiple fractures and bruises.  The alleged victim had one acute fracture and six, possibly seven fractures in various stages of healing.

Due to the stages of healing, it is possible that there were two and possibly 3 separate incidents.  In addition to the fractures, the baby had a bruise on the left side of his chin, and a broken blood vessel in the left eye.

On May 2, 2025, Perez, the father of the child, admitted to causing all the injuries to the child, because he was mad at his stepmother, and took it out on the baby.  All incidents took place at his home in Pindall, Arkansas.

Perez is facing 7 counts of 1st Degree Battery.  All are Class Y Felonies.  His bond has been set at $75,000.00.  He awaits a Searcy County Court date while in custody.
