Two arrested

On June 11th, 2025, deputies with the Searcy County Sheriff's Office responded to Highway 65 in St Joe Arkansas, due to a male and female using physical force to unlawfully remove poultry (chickens) from the residence.
The complainant/ victim stated that a male and female stopped at her residence and ask if they could buy chickens. The female told both individuals that the chickens were not for sale. At that time one of the suspects grabbed the victim, held her and shoved an undisclosed amount of money in her pocket. There were also minor children in close vicinity of the victim.
One of the suspects, later identified as Ruxanda Ghiocel, used physical force and dragged the victim towards the location of the chickens and in total, stole five chickens. They placed the chickens in their vehicle and sped South on Hwy. 65. Deputies located the vehicle on Highway 65 at the intersection with Hwy. 27 and conducted a traffic stop.
After contacting the two suspects, Dumitru Gheorghe and Ruxanda Ghiocel, the chickens were located inside the vehicle. It was discovered that both suspects were of Romanian descent, and one was wanted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Both suspects were charged with Robbery, Criminal trespass, and 3rd degree assault. At this time both individuals are in custody at the Searcy County Sheriff's Office awaiting a probable cause hearing.
Circuit Judge H.G. Foster set bond in the case.
Bond was set at 50,000.00 on Ruxanda Ghiocel.
Bond was set at No bond on Dumitru Gheorghe. Dumitru Gheorghe also has an Immigration Customs Enforcement detainer.
