Burglary suspect arrested

04/04/2019

Dylan Wilson

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reported on April 3 that 19 year old Leslie resident, Dylan Wilson, was arrested on multiple counts of commercial burglary and theft of property. He stated Wilson had been a suspect in several commercial burglaries and theft cases in Marshall going back to late 2018, but was not identified until March 2019, by his department.

Cassell said that the arrest occurred when Wilson came to the Searcy County Detention Center for a visit with his probation officer. When he arrived, he was met and interviewed by Chief Deputy D. Pierce and Deputy B. Cordell.  During the interview, Wilson admitted that he had entered Roten's Furniture twice with the intention of committing theft. While inside, he took money that he later spent on drug paraphernalia and other merchandise.  Wilson also admitted he unlawfully entered Daniel's Hardware and took firearms and other property from the business.

Following the interview, Wilson was arrested, jailed and charged with being an habitual offender; three counts of commercial burglary, Class C felony; four counts of theft of property (firearms), Class C felony; and two counts of misdemeanor theft of property, Class A misdemeanor.

Dylan Wilson is currently on probation for unrelated felony crimes that he has pleaded guilty to.   No bail amount or court date has been set at this time.
