Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell reported the gun and equipment auction held Saturday, June 22, which included over 250 long guns and handguns, a 35,000 watt generator and two vehicles, was a huge success and generated over $40,000. Cassell said the money raised from the auction along with grant funds would be used to purchase two vehicles for his department. “I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who assisted with the auction especially the members of the Assessor’s Office, Collector’s Office and Treasurer’s Office, the folks who came out to support the auction and to the auctioneers, Mike Ragland and Rocky Horton for their help in making this event a success.” Pictured are Rocky Horton (left) and Mike Ragland (right) conducting the gun and equipment auction.
